The Governing Body meeting of the Trust were held for every year and the Academic Advisory Committee meetings were held for every six months. During the Academic Advisory Committee meetings the faculty members were also given preference to give their suggestions for improvement of the Academic performance of the Institution.

GIT has four year engineering degree programmes. Under Lateral Entry Scheme, there is a provision for admitting Diploma students in 2nd Year in their respective branches. The Computer Center of GIT is fully equipped with excellent computing facilities including multiple servers, Computer Nodes, Computer Standalones, latest packages and Programmes. All the Systems are networked for Windows NT Environment.

(5) Humanities and Sciences

Successful career in any profession in the modern world is considerably influenced by proficiency in English language and expression, logical thinking and getting trained in Entrepreneurial and managerial qualities. The department of Humanities and sciences caters to the needs of students in the areas of English, Physics, Mathematics and Management. The syllabus helps the students to acquire adequate knowledge of basic sciences to grasp various engineering concepts easily. A special stress is being laid on Spoken English and Communicative Skills through GIT Orators Club. The language lab for developing communication skills in English as well as other languages is in the process of being established.

Admission Procedure

EAMCET & ICET entrance exams will be conducted by Govt. A.P. for admission into under graduate B. Tech Course & Post Graduate MBA/MCA courses

Seats are allotted by EAMCET & ICET convener as per the state government reservation rules for various caste categories to various colleges, Branch-wise, on merit basis for 70% of the total authorized intake & 30% of total authorized intake, forms the Management Quota.
Calendar for Admissions: According to University Notifications.
XI Criteria and Weightages for Admission:
- Describe each criteria with its respective weightages i.e. Admission Test, marks in qualifying examination etc.: EAMCET examination
- Mention the minimum level of acceptance, if any. 60% in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination
- Mention the cut-off levels of percentage & percentile scores of the candidate in the Admission test for the last three years. 50%
- Display marks scored in Test etc. and in aggregate for all candidates who were admitted.

The admissions were made 70% through the Entrance Test conducted by the Convenor, EAMCET, and Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education, Hyderabad & Convener, ICET Entrance Exams and the remaining 30% will be filled through the Management Quota. The students admitted through the Entrance Test have to pay an amount of Rs.30200/- towards tuition fee per year for the Under Graduate Engineering Course & Rs.26700/- for the post Graduate MBA/MCA Courses.

Placement Department Activities

The placement cell was established in the institution during the academic year 2004-05. Presently Sri Mohammed Ghouse is the Placement Officer of the Institution. Various companies like Sathyam, L&T Infotech & Migra have conducted campus interviews.

VIII. Fee

  • Details of the fee: As prescribed by the State Government, presently the prescribed fee is Rs 30,200/- for the candidates admitted through counciling for the Under Graduate B.Tech Engineering Students & Rs.27500/- for the Post Graduate MBA/MCA Courses
  • Time Schedule: The fee can be paid in two installments, one in each semester.
  • No. of Scholarships : A merit Scholarship for Rs.5000/-has been initiated by the Management and it will be awarded to the student who stood first during the year

    INFRASTRUCTURE

    The college has fully equipped infrastructure for buildings, lecture halls, workshop, Library, Hostels.
    The college has a generating capacity of 87.5 Kva in the form of a diesel electric generator.

    LECTURE HALLS

    The college drawing hall and sufficient number of lecturer halls for class work
    All the engineering and basic sciences laboratories are well equipped two generators of 62.5 KVA and 15 Kva are provided for an uninterrupted power supply for day to day work of the college.

    LIBRARY

    "Library is the seat of God in the temple of college"

    The College has a Central Library, with the Text and Reference books, SONNET CDs (Society for Networking for Technical Education, Hyderabad), Floppy Disks, Audio Cassettes, Magazines and Journals. The Central Library has 16000 volumes and 1800 Titles. Eighty six leading Indian and Foreign Technical and Management Journals, ten magazines have been subscribed for the use of staff and students. In addition to these, separate book bank for SC students is provided

    Our library will continue to Augment it's resources and modernize with the latest techniques in future.
    The library is provided with the automation and presently all transactions in the library are dealing with the automation.

    A well-furnished center has been provided with personal computers and required teachings and supervisory staff.

    There is a Training and Placement cell under the supervision of a senior professor to help the students get training in Industries and provide information regarding jobs. It also invites recruiting agencies to conduct campus interviews. Special Coaching Classes are arranged for Gate and other Competitive Examinations held for higher Studies.     The college Magazine titled INFO-QUEST was started by the students in the year of 2001.

    STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

    Several students at the college have presented papers in student paper contests, conducted by some engineering colleges and have received appreciation from the organizations. HCL Hardware Training Center and Oracle Campus connectivity program.

    AMENITIES

    The student amenities available are Canteen, stores, and recreation room for boys and girls separately.

    Canteen: Snacks and lunch are available in the college canteen to meet the basic needs of the students and staff.
    Transport: The College is operating buses to carry the day scholar students and staff from Anantapur town to College and a separate bus is being operated for the convenience of those staying in Hostel. APSRTC buses ply very frequently on NH7.
    Stores: Students stores are serving the needs of the students such as textbooks and all stationary items at reasonable rates within the campus.
    Medical Facilities: Medical Facilities are provided within the campus. Part time male and female doctors will be visiting the hostels.
    National Service Scheme: An NSS comprising boys and girls to encourage the students in social service activities. NSS camps are being conducted periodically in the neighbouring villages and on the premisis of the college.

    BLOOD DONATION: - The college staff and students actively participated in the blood donation camp conducted by the "MANAVATHA RAKTHADANA SAMSTHA" and donated blood. The above organization was felicitated with "Sri Rajeev Gandhi national award".
    The blood collected from the students & staff has been utilized to needy people by the above organization the slogan of the blood donation conducted in the institution was "DON'T RAG DONATE BLOOD". Nearly 500 students have been donated blood.
    Sports: Vast play fields were laid for playing different games and sports.
    HOSTEL: Private Managed residential buildings are constructed within the campus for boys and girls. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served. Hostel has telephone facility for receiving local/out station calls. Full time Deputy Wardens are appointed to maintain discipline and to attend the needs of the inmates. To preserve the academic atmosphere in the hostel, admission into the hostel is strictly based on merit; and study hours are also organized.
    Internet Facility: An Internet browsing center has been set up to enable the students to browse at their convenience. There are 60 terminals with Internet facility for students to use. Students can use these facilities during leisure hours and also in the evenings after class hours. This facility is provided free for all the students.

    RULES AND REGULATIONS

    • Students must maintain decent dress code with shirt tucked in.
    • Shoes are compulsory and wearing T Shirts within the premises is prohibited.
    • They have to wear the Identity cards compulsorily and have to produce the same as and when the authorities demand
    • They have to maintain dignity, decency, decorum, order, calmness and obey the instructions of the teachers in the class rooms.
    • They should not be in the canteen or at any public place during the class hours.
    • They should maintain silence in the college library and also in the campus.
    • Students should not indulge in any sort of ragging and misbehavior in the college campus.
    • Defacing of campus building and walls by writing is prohibited.

    ATTENDANCE RULES

    • Students who are absent from the classes without prior permission of lecturers concerned (in charge lecturer )and without submitting leave letter are required to bring their parents to give explanation in default of which a serious action will be taken. (Such as expulsion for specific period)
    • If a student does not report for class work for many days from the first day of academic year, without permission, he will be liable for disciplinary action.
    • The students should be punctual to classes. Regular late comers will not be permitted into the classes.
    • Students should not use their cell phones when they are in the campus.
    • All students of II and III ECE branch must wear white over coat for all the laboratories.
    • Students have to maintain required seventy five percent attendances, required in the regular classes, including laboratories, as per the JNTU regulations.
    • Attendance on the reopening day and the last week of the working days is a must.
    • The students are allowed to take only one permitted leave per month. On genuine grounds, the students can get permissions for two or three leaves from their respective head of the departments. In the exceptional cases, the student can get permission for 4 or more leaves from the principal.
